Taren Point Reserve 10th July 2017. In the depths of Winter, the Bay was on fire .. (Crop)

Image notes: a Dusk image from July 2017. When is a crop not a crop ? In this Crop version, it's still an enormous image. This image is all about space, to show-case an exceptional Dusk event. The original is an absolutely enormous image from a special shoot-site. In Autumn & Winter, Taren Point Reserve gets Dusk as spectacular as any place I've ever seen. On this evening, the pre-dusk had thick cloud on the horizon, preventing the setting Sun from getting through. I thought a display was unlikely. I've never been so wrong ! After sunset, colour built gently from the South (the left), & spread slowly across the sky. The intensity of colour reached a deeply-coloured crescendo as the spread continued North. As I shot the scene, the world around me was a vibrant Red-Orange, with an amazing intensity of deep colour being reflected off the bay - 1 of the reasons I love shooting here. The scale of the scene looked impossible. I felt compelled to shoot the entire scene. This image deserves a big wall in a special setting. Perhaps a local Council. Display note: This is a Dark image. It explores Imaging at low Light levels; a subject I'm passionate about. For best enjoyment of this image, I advise positioning on a light-coloured wall, in a room with high levels of Ambient light. Dedicated image-lighting is recommended.
