Cronulla Pools Dawn - the old Pool

Camera: Nikon D700. Lens: 24-70mm/f2.8 @ 52mm. Shot as a 4 second Aperture priority exposure at 5.43am in March 2013. Shot from the raised rock shelf (scary !) on the rock platform between the 2 pools near Cronulla beach. Taking in the Old Pool, with the lights of the Kurnell Oil Refinery above. The 2nd of 2 images from the shoot, this 1 using 2 stops of Filters to further slow the exposure. The image takes a White balance bias from the Cokin filters as well as the special all-night safety lights (which I dislike), although I love the result in this case. I love the detail throughout the scene. The rock platform was awash with the incoming tide - I had to move after this Exposure.

Image Size: 256 x 450mm.
