Hi. I’m Murray Barnes. Thanks for visiting my Web-site. I live in Cronulla; a beach-side suburb in Sydney's south, on Australia's East coast. I spend a lot of time chasing light around the beaches & National Parks of my home. I also enjoy shooting the occasional image project; where I totally lose myself in a particular shoot-site; exploring what makes that site special. Put simply, I love light, & I shoot beauty. I enjoy photographing the natural beauty that surrounds us as we rush around like crazy, living our lives at a hundred miles an hour.
We're on the verge of Autumn in Cronulla (the trees are just starting to turn), which in photography terms means quiet evenings - ideal conditions for Sunset colour. Images from last year were very exciting indeed, including `Taren Point Reserve 10th July 2017. In the depths of Winter, the Bay was on fire .. (Crop)' - a deeply-colourful & perfectly-balanced wide-scale epic .. I'm waiting impatiently. There's nothing more satisfying than shooting a wonderfully-colourful Dusk panorama.
You can find my most recent images in the `New Images'
gallery; as well as a lot of day-by-day current images on my 2 Facebook pages: Images at Murrays
& Murray Barnes
. The images displayed there, viewed in Full-Screen, are beautiful..

And the image that forms the backdrop to this site ? It's from a series of images that will at some stage feature in these pages. Shot in a new & ever-growing Sand-dune in the nature-zone between the road & the beach, between Elouera & Wanda surf clubs, where I live, in the Shire. Shot at very close range & using extreme Depth of Field, the photograph captures the way sand is shaped by wind; lining up in waves that grow by weight & size of grain. For me, this new dune is a bit symbolic, both of my passions for nature & Photography, & of my business - `images at murrays'.
